Genuine, Compatible & Remanufactured, What's the Difference?

Compatible ink & toner cartridges are brand new Inkspot brand cartridges that are designed to replace the genuine brand and do the exact same job. Nearly every cartridges has a compatible alternative which is already significantly cheaper than the geniune (or "OEM") cartridges.

Remanufactured cartridges are a refurbished unit that uses the outer shell of a genuine cartridge because they are unable to make a compatible. The shell is cleaned and all other parts are replaced with new componenets. They are pretty rare and expensive to make (only about 20 types compared to over 2800 compatibles types).
